Patterson 85AW: Almost there..
|
Here is the Patterson 85AW with most of the new finish applied. After re-veneering the top, the radio was sanded and grain filled twice. I typically use Bartley's dark grain filler, which is a nice match with the walnut veneer. The zebrawood areas were filled multiple times because they have such a deep grain pattern. The "shoulders" of the radio were toned using a combination of artists oil pigments thinned with mineral spirits and wiped on. The black trim was sprayed using Krylon Camo Black, and the entire piece then toned using Mohawk toners. The bottom black trim still needs to be painted, and some more clear coats need to be added to get a nice layer of laquer. I've sanded the grille openings, but will need to paint those or stain them to darken them up. |
